This 68,000 SF facility consisted of Research and development laboratory, corporate offices, administrative support area, and a state-of-the-art cGMP manufacturing facility for injectable drugs. The scope of work also included 4,000 SF of vivarium demolition and construction of new vivarium including the relocation of research subjects during the demolition phase; 5,000 SF of research and development laboratory and office space; 4,500 SF of fill finish, buffer prep, conference room and administrative support; and a 4,500 SF expansion of the shipping and receiving warehouse. Value engineering during the preconstruction phase saved $6 million from the original estimate.
