The Vista Terrace is a picturesque location for ceremonies and other outdoor events at the hotel. The scope of work consisted of the removal of existing landscape and hardscape to provide a new ADA compliant plaza as well as elevating and expanding the Vista Terrace from two levels to one level, creating views to the ocean and the hotel’s historic turret. The work also preserved the famed Dragon Tree next to the resort entrance, which was the backdrop for a scene featuring Jack Lemmon in drag in the movie “Some Like It Hot.” All work was completed while the hotel remained in operation.
