Design-build of a 30,000 SF research and development facility for high-voltage radio frequency and plasma physics research. The project included providing infrastructure to support 20 megawatts of power usage. Magnetic fields generated from Archimedes’ experiments required extensive use of non-ferrous material and other exotic materials. The building shell and roof structure were modified to accommodate bridge cranes and height requirements for equipment. The schedule was accelerated from the original one year duration to a 6-month duration.
