TSA Erects 35,000 lb Steel Truss at Mater Dei
Chula Vista, CA… TSA Construction, Inc. is progressing on construction of the Mater Dei Catholic Church located at 1571 Magdalena Drive. On October 2nd crews successfully placed a 35,000 pound, 106-foot truss above what will be the altar of the church. A 400-ton hydraulic crane was used to move the truss. When complete, this 17,420-square-foot, 1-story, wood-frame and stucco worship building will have a seating capacity of 1,000, as well as other ancillary and supporting spaces. The site development will include modifications to a small portion of the existing surface parking lot, paved courtyards, walks, ramps, landscaping and irrigation as well as required grading, drainage and utility improvements.
Mater Dei Catholic Church is represented by Father Ven and domusstudio architecture is the architect of record with David Pfeifer as Principle-in-Charge, Scott McColl as Architect, and Diane Zoura as Designer. TSA’s representatives include Geoff Sherman as Project Manager, Brian Petersen as Assistant Project Manager, Aaron Zieman as Senior Superintendent, and Mike Diaz as Superintendent. Richardson Steel is the structural steel subcontractor.
